Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
We never had an open house (except for realtors) when we sold. It only attracts âLooky-Lousâ (Iâm guilty of this myself). REAL potential buyers nowadays look on line at your photos and description and then make an appointment. (Footnote: always have professional photos done. SO worth it). We sold our house in one monthâŠ.got our asking price.
Open houses are just thatâ open to everyone. You never know when a neighbor might have a relative or friend who wants to move to the neighborhood. She could always say sheâs hoping to find a house for Gene!
in Canada the âopen houseâ is run by the real estate agent and the owner is far away keeping out of his hair. No agent knows who âwalksâ by the house.
Iâve done this, but itâs always a realtor, not the actual owner. I introduce myself as âThe Nosy Neighbor who has always admired this beautiful homeâ and am welcomed right in.
The Flintstone House had an online viewing while it was on the market. The lady who bought it had great fun with it: https://www.mercurynews.com/2018/03/18/famous-flintstone-house-gets-yabba-dabba-doo-makeover/

I am reminded of the scene in âChinatownâ in which Polanski says to Nicholson, âYou know what happens to nosy fellows?â

I love open houses. They often give me good updating ideas, and whatâs wrong with that?

Weâre always doing a first look for our cousins who live in Denver.

As a Realtor, we expect all the neighbors to stop by and look. We get additional homes in the neighborhood to sell that way.

If you donât want this to happen, donât have an open house.

Next to showing up at the luncheon after a funeral for somebody you donât know, this is the second worst way to get a free meal.
