He had no heart, like the pitcher in The Twilight Zone.

Jarvis, if you leave now, you can leave him high & dry, then, he’ll have to use JRVZ 2.0

The robot could fake caring, but couldn’t fake vulnerability.

Studies show that this is why tipping is so popular in the US (when presented with no-tipping but a 15% higher bill, the reaction is uniformly negative). The tipper savors the feeling of power that adding to or withholding a tip gives him over the server.

A big part of the Republican credo — It’s not enough for me to succeed, others must fail.

kind of a lazy, deus ex machina ending to what was a good storyline. I wanted to see the robot fail in some way to show that having Jarvis was better…

Just look around you, who reminds you of that kind of behavior? Don’t say it just think it.

Aha! All the more reason to go through with your resignation, Jarvis! Be a man! Let Sedgwick Nuttingham III try getting along without a Gentleman’s Gentleman for a while! Make him come running to you, begging you to come back, offering massively enlarged salary and more time off!

Not the best reason for the story resolution. To me Jarvis always does what he’s told with resigned competence, with no element of humiliation.
