My ex wife: I don’t need a diamond but if you do it should be at least 1/2 a carat. Later in the marriage when I could afford to ‘upgrade’ the 1/2 carat significantly it was “I should have held out for more” and that right on the heels of the new Lexus. Needless to say it didn’t last much longer.
