Ben doesn’t look as if Olivia’s forgotten to feed him too often. Besides, Ben has opposable thumbs; he can feed himself. (Is there anything more frightening that the idea of cats with opposable thumbs?)
When I still had a male dog, he would lie in front of the refrigerator in the winter, mostly because it would send out warm air through the grill. In the summer, he liked to lie in front of the A/C vent. When I had a female dog, she did not care where she would lie down as long as it was near me. They both loved going for walks with me.

I think mine do it so that we can’t leave without them noticing..but they sure are quick to notice when we are in the kitchen

One of our cats lies in front of the fridge sometimes. I think he likes the air from the ventilation system at floor level.
