(best viewed using Google Chrome, which can automatically translate most pages as necessary) has info and links that point to info about this 1877 oil on canvas painting. A colorphotogravure, i.e., photographic negative transferred to a metal plate, from 1884?? Really???? The strip image comes from the gallery shown by 4th artist info URL below (also had the date and medium wrong before I corrected it); but, its image has been updated (not by me).
has the prior. My comment there used the same artist info URLs.
Again, a slightly larger strip image is shown by clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #2023 (August 21, 2018) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment.
Re: “Shred”: I don’t mind when people ask a question in the comments, and I answer questions if I know the answer and somebody else hasn’t already answered. But in case no one answers, I find a handy place to go look up things is Urban Dictionary. At age 63, I don’t know all the current terms for things, so it helps me quite a bit. Just FYI, even though others kindly answered the question about “shred”, here is UD’s short definition of “shredding”: a style of guitar playing characterized by extremely fast flurries of notes and extremely distorted tones.

Teacher: First, grasshopper, you must learn to grasp the guitar like a master. Only then may you begin to contemplate strings.
