The “solutions” to very advanced mathematical problems are more equations, just ones that express the parameters in clearer ways. As a recovering math-head (poorly recovering, it seems) I try to keep my distance. I got interested in mathematical physics for a while until I saw that accepting occasional paradoxes was just part of the flow… somebody someday would figure those out, we assume.
Now a days, as in times past, a flashy brilliant response to a thorny question, even if it is patently wrong, is often preferred over a boring correct answer. Especially, when people don’t know what the right answer is for sure anyway.
