The shorter days are a bummer, too.

The forecast here says there is a possibility of snow this coming Thursday. We seemed to have skipped fall and jumped into winter.

She’s not the only one to get “September glummies”. I know a couple people who are like that. I actually like September (and fall in general) in spite of the shorter days.

It’s why I now live in Florida. Couldn’t stand the short summer into 9 months of dreary winter. Fall had become almost non-existent.

September is here and Katy is FALLing towards her WINTER doom. But never fear. Before long her mood will SPRING back when SUMMER vacation is just around the corner.

Years ago, I used to make homemade calendars and each month would be made with two colors. September was always black and grey. I chose those because I saw September as so dismal due to the fact that I had to go back to school. The other thing about September is that’s when I experience the first loss of a family member. My maternal grandfather died at the end of September when I was in the sixth grade. I change my e-mail signature colors every month to pretty much the same ones I used when I was making those. And just in case anyone was curious: January is silver and gold (or as close as I can get on computer colors), February is red and pink, March is regular green and light green, April is lavender and yellow, May is blue and light blue (in honor of the Blessed Mother), June is orange and yellow for the start of summer, July is red and blue, August I just choose two pretty colors I like since the only big thing in August is my birthday, I already told you September, October is orange and black, November is brown and orange, and December is red and green.

“September Glummies” is a good name for a rock band.
