Central Park is the largest park in Manhattan, and Manhattan is New York City, for the most people on Earth and maybe in the US. That’s why everybody knows Central Park, believing that CP.is the biggest.

Begs the question of which NYC parks are larger???? Had they said NY state it would be quite believable.
