It didn’t have a front windshield but it didn’t have a place to put it either. The cabin was closed. Lindbergh used a side periscope to take off and land. The rest of the trip, there was not much to see anyway, so it made sense not to have one.
Red diesel is a fuel used by people like farmers and construction workers, who use it legally to run vehicles like tractors and diggers. It’s a lot cheaper than normal diesel because you don’t have to pay as much tax on it. The fuel is dyed red to catch people using it for on-road vehicles.
If a slug’s laziness is to ensure survival, they need to re-think that. It’s their laziness that makes it very easy for me to come after them with a box of salt and start pouring it on them. And then they’ll die.
If there was part of the airplane that shielded him from the wind then technically that would be a windshield, wouldn’t it? Something that shields you from the wind is a windshield whether you can see through it or not.
Slugs are NOT lazy. They are also NOT slow as a survival tactic. (that is a Sloth) To say that a Slug is “Lazy” is to suggest that the Slug COULD move Faster and Jump-around and be more Active. That just shows a total lack of understanding of Slug physiology. Robert Ripley would never have made such a stupid statement. The current writers are Lazy.

How could they have forgotten to install a windshield into the “Spirit”? Also, with what do they dye the fuel?

Does U.K. really think that the slug could move faster if it wanted to?

To save weight they left a windshield out of the Spirit of St. Louis’s design.

Who needs slugs? A study of Wally from Dilbert would have yielded the same conclusion.

No windshield on purpose. The plane had side windows and a periscope for a front view. No rear view mirror either.

Doesn’t the University of Kansas have more important things to study? I wonder what the grant amounted to for that study! :o[

Yeah, because when a slug hauls ass, they tend to trip.

Because there was a fuel tank there.

That’s right. I have a friend who lived in the Midwest and his family had diesel fueled cars. They used heating oil sometimes as fuel for the cars.

When electric cars replace the fuel tax, who will maintain the roads?

Now I’m curious. When did the Atlantic finally get a windshield? Or does it have one yet?

I think the slug’s survival tactic is to spend most of its time sitting there and looking like a booger, causing animals to recoil in disgust ;-)
