I only like onions & green pepper & that wasn’t until I was an adult. As a kid like Norman on;y cheese. My husband on the other hand has pepperoni, sausage, black olives, hot peppers & anchovies. When I order the half & half they know it’s me.
Like the burger restaurant that lets you “have it your way”, “special orders don’t upset us”… because the burger is already priced as if it were served “all the way”. Of COURSE they “allow” you to “hold the pickles, hold the lettuce”…you’re still paying for them—and on the scale that burgers are sold, that comes to a lot of money that’s pure profit. You, the customer, pays for a topping that they, the vendor, get to keep and re-sell—and you come away thinking of it as a convenience and good customer service!
For a change, I agree with Norm. Not on his choice—I’d like more on a pizza—but for not being stampeded into having more just because of a marketing gimmick.
As usual, Ralph is trying to get more volume no matter what it tastes like. And Norm is just asking for what he thinks tastes good. One of the few times Norm is actually acting intelligent.
I happen to be making my own pizza right now. Sausage, Green Pepper, Onion, Black Olives, and of course Cheese, but not just any cheese — PROVEL Cheese. (Look it up. Hint: I’m a St. Louis native.)

I finally decided to buy frozen pizzas with no toppings other than cheese, and then add my own. I can go as heavy on the olives as I like.

That’s a slick business model.

I’m actually with Norman on this, I prefer pizza with just cheese. The only toppings I add are fresh basil and/or red pepper flakes.
