Did Jim Scancarelli decide to cover Rachel’s face because of the offensive racial stereotype? I think he should just change it: draw her realistically his own way, like they did Chop-Chop (now Wu Cheng) in the Blackhawk comic.
I was reading some of the strips from after Phyllis died, and they hired Gertie to care for Walt. She asks Skeezix why Walt keeps calling her “Rachel”.

you folks realize it could be 50 – 60 years before we get back to present day right?….hey still better than a lot of comics today
