No QOTD from Tony, so I’ll ask one. Do you have a pool?

Yes, but don’t even think about coming over. It’s closed for the season.

People who buy houses for resale in the future consider a pool to be an investment. People like Peg who have a home consider a pool to be an expense. And an ongoing one, to boot. Plus, insurance companies generally consider them to be an attractive nuisance and raise your rates. Of course, I live 1/2 mile from the community pool and 5 miles from the nearest beach (in Florida, so it’s year round access).

Is it really worth the effort and expense of having an in-ground pool where winters include ice and snow? You’d get to use it maybe 3-4 months of the year.

You might want to think about that. Pools have to be cleaned every now and then so you have the pool boy over and ……. Ah, never mine. Peter is always hanging around the house.

For the QOTD: Just the football pool.

Only the kind you find in the snack aisle, Peter — but I don’t recommend putting them in that bowl…!
