Let me guess: our cartoonist just bought something from Ikea — or had to listen to someone who did!
A friend bought a great “Ikea classic” chair and I was helping her put it together. She’s great with a screwdriver but had trouble “reading” the no-words pictorial instruction booklet, so I held that and read it to her (translated it into spoken words, that is) as she went. I found it quite fun to “reverse interpret” the pictures into words. It was the perfect solution and her chair went together correctly in no time!

That is much more clear than some of the Ikea instructions I have seen.
