Sometimes I dry out my sinuses overnight, then they hurt like crazy. No medicine helps that. I got a Vicks sinus steamer (that’s not what it is called, but it is what it is) from Target and can get relief in ten minutes.
Nuh-uh!!! I get both; and a sinus headache, tho’ annawful thing, is abso-bally-lutely NOTHING like a migraine!!! Poor Janis! Get some sinus headache pills and wash them down with a cuppa hot tea, with lemon, honey, ginger, or cinnamon, in any combo that sounds good. Standing in a very hot shower and letting the water pour over your head helps too.
I was often getting sinus headaches until a few weeks ago. I have a “warm-air breather” machine, which would only give temporary relief. Ibuprofen usually would suppress the pain, but I don’t like to take it a lot because of the stomach bleeding. Acetaminophen only sometimes would take care of it, often actually seeming to make it worse. I found that caffeine would alleviate it as well. And get this, since I discovered that I did not get sinus headaches on the days after taking Diphenhydramine HCI (ZZZQuil or the much cheaper ZZZSleep), I started taking it every night, and my headaches are now almost non-existent, and when they do occur, they are much reduced, pain-wise.
I was taught there were three reasons for sinuses: to lighten the head, to protect the brain from blows, and to make money for doctors and drug companies. By the way, you can also have sinus symptoms identical to allergic sinusitis due to gastric reflux that travels up the esophagus and irritates the nasal cavity while you’re sleeping. If you think this might be an issue for you try taking an antacid like fantomidine before you go to bed.

Smart, Arlo. Say it about yourself before she says it.

I never got into piercings. I always figured I had more than my fair share of holes in my head.

Arlo doesn’t snore, but the air whistling through the holes keeps Janis awake anyway.

You might need some allergy meds. Or a humidifier. Poor thing.

I know Janis isn’t feeling food, but, wow, can she hang over a table, or what?
