in the end of another C&H hiccup story arc, Calvin ate some sugar to get rid of hiccups which it seemed to work until the hiccups returned as soon as Hobbes surprised him and pounced on him

Drinking water NEVER helped me. All it did was make me hiccup while peeing 10 minutes later!

Best way to stop hiccuping is to tell yourself to stop. It really works. But – you have to REALLY believe; the slightest scintilla of doubt and…they’re back…

Do people grow out of hicky-pups? I haven’t had any for many, many years.
