I don’t have to ask my 2 Maine Coon x boys if they want food … I’m informed the instant the bottom of the bowl is visible or if it’s two seconds past dinner time :)
I had to say my final good-byes to my Cuda today (my new avatar). 14-1/2 years old. She was a Maine Coon and knew she was the queen of the world. She loved people and would always greet them at the door. She would sleep with overnight guests (if they permitted it – I don’t think anyone ever turned her down) and had a purr that sounded like her namesakes. Besides her daddy and me, she leaves behind her sisters Hemi (14-1/2, we rescued them together), Sarajevo (7 years) and Freyja (18 months). She ruled the household and Sarajevo misses her already. R.I.P. Cuda, April 4, 2004 – October 15, 2018.
We have a cat who we swear is reincarnated. A long story, suffice it to say that a really unusual cat dies, two years later a strange cat (later displaying exactly the same wide range of unusual characteristics) showed up at our door, asked to be let in, went to the food bowl, had lunch and then settled down on the couch for a nap. No settling in time, no nervousness on his part, it was almost like “Sorry it took me so long, I’m back now.”

A normal reaction, maybe, but a really stupid question.

Looks like everybody’s happy, except Pippi.
