It just needs a bit more frosting to make it look right. Taste is the true test.

Maybe it would have been funnier in Spanish, I guess!

I like the subtle allusion. Nicely done.

This one reminds me of my grandma teaching me how to bake cakes – My first chiffon cake looked like Gracie’s. <3

A nice Election Day comic! No partisanship, no insults.

the first cake I made from scratch looked about the same – my husband took a piece to work, someone asked what kind of cake was it – jokingly he called it a crater cake. The person wanted the recipe. 47 years later we still laugh about it

Should she say “I’m sure we’ll do batter next time”? Or is that too much like Mr Pastis?

A popular St. Louis cake reportedly came about due to a mistake.

My wife made the best garlic stuffed pork butt due to a mistake. It had to do with temperature and timing, but we didn’t know all the details. Just way too hot for some unknown time.

A politician comment, but gentle and subtle, rather than vindictive — I like it.

Some commenters seem to think this is about the election. How? I don’t see anything remotely connected to politics.

The cake will turn out the same as the first, unless they make some change to the recipe. They need to know why the first cake turned out so bad.

That’s what frosting is for! By the time you cut and serve it, no one will notice.
