I would darken the room lights and just lay there, staring at the blinking tree with all the presents under it, Xmas songs playing in the background. For a kid it really was a magical time.

Kids who are being deported. Kids who are torn from their parents and family.

JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON WITHOUT HIM THERE WOULD BE NO CHRISTMAS. HINT THE FIRST PART OF THE WORD CHRIST. EVEN IF YOU PUT X IN FRONT OF MAS THE X IS GREEK FOR CHRIST. SO YOU ARE REALLY SAYING CHRISTMAS. HAPPY HOLIDAYS MEANS YOU ARE HAPPY THAT JESUS WAS BORN FOR THE HOLIDAY. SANTA IS THE SPIRIT OF GIVING WHAT MORE DID JESUS DO BUT GIVE HIS LIFE FOR YOU. SO NO MATTER HOW YOU LOOK AT IT CHRISTMAS IS REALLY ALL ABOUT JESUS. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.

One of my all-time favorite cartoons by Lynn Johnston, and yes it still warms my heart and brings a tear to my eye.

Nothing like Christmas to bring out the Extremists amongst us. Christmas is for peace, joy and giving of ourselves to help others. Shouting only makes some of us block our ears!

Just a thought since we talk of Jesus here: He must be playing host to uncountable numbers of souls….no wonder the universe is expanding!

Such a nice, innocent Christmas strip completely perverted by political and religious zealots!

BUNNIES!

What I like about this comic strip is that it shows Elizabeth is paying attention specifically to the baby Jesus in the nativity. We go from kids who don’t have presents to wake up to and then go to kids in the hospital and then kids who are lonely and then Elizabeth wishes she could give Jesus something for his birthday. Following this progression of thought, it looks like Elizabeth believes Jesus is a child alive who does not have any presents and is alone on his birthday. Looking at a nativity, you could get that. There are no other kids or a birthday cake or any presents in the way Elizabeth thinks birthdays should be celebrated.

Nope.Just a folktale.Read more history of religion.Yule was being celebrated long before this johnny-come-lately religion.

So seldom do we see Jesus’ name used in a way that honors him. So thankful for this respectful message.
