Common misconception. The sugar used in baking, etc. is a double sugar. It gets converted to starch and stored when you eat it. Simple sugars like glucose, which aren’t found in most anything we eat, go directly into the bloodstream. For some reason I remember this from high school biology over 60 years ago. Of course I also remember my address and phone number from then.
