    Each needs to be applied in proper proportion. The carrot as reward for good behavior. The stick to instruct that the consequence of bad behavior is pain and something to be avoided. The latter lesson is something that is no longer taught. Full prisons are one result.

    Okay, questions from suburban-city gal to folks who have met with wild rabbits: do rabbits really like carrots, or do they like the greens? Where did this bunny-carrot thing get started? We had a wild rabbit in our garden (strictly plants) for a few weeks, and it ate the green plants we had in the yard. . .

    Carrots are properly tied onto sticks and dangledbin front of donkeys just out of reach. Any other use of sticks constitutes animal cruelty and will be handled by vengeful cartoon animals
