why? just because of that little fact? If that is the case, I will take Mississississippippi over California’s ‘progressive’ status any and every day!

not that it matters to any of the points made here, the spelling of Mississippi, by rote, was one of the earliest things I learned in grade school back in the 50’s…….I think it was taught for the spelling of the river and not necessarily the state.

It is interesting to note that Mississippi’s close neighbor, Louisiana, voted to ratify the 13th amendment on February 17th, 1865. This was before Lee had surrendered to Grant on April 9th, 1865.

RI abolished slavery in 1652…just sayin’….and I was quite concerned over dressing up my chickens thank you for that
