Okay, I’ll bite! What part of American history does this reference? Can’t recall anything where there was a duel in the snow!?

So what are the snow shovels for? The guns are for a duel, I assume.

I remember a George of the Jungle cartoon where the bad guy challenged George to a duel. Shovels at 10 paces. George brought a shovel and the bad guy had a steam shovel!

One of you is a high stepper in disguise and will, of course, win.

Is this the origin of competitive snow shoveling?

That scene could be outside my window right now. Well, the shovels part anyway.

At frost glance, this doesn’t look like a Free Range toon.

Shouldn’t each one have a second? And wouldn’t it be their job to shovel the 10 paces since their job is to help the duellist?

I wish they would have their duel in my driveway.

They should both shovel the ten paces first. The one with enough energy to go back to the center to duel is the winner. Or both may have stroked out before the make it ten paces.
