That’s what they said about bebop, John Coltrane, Shostakovitch, Elvis, and Hendrix as well. My parents would complain about all the music I listened to (some but not all of the above…) being noise unless of course it was Lawrence Welk (that to me is noise). Actually kind of an interesting social phenomenon how different styles of music appeal to different people (and sometimes regardless of age)
