Chic was born into a colony that practiced casual cannibalism; where the only reason he survived at all was because his mother was married to the colony leader. Yet his mother couldn’t openly care for him. His “father” mostly just barely tolerated Chic’s existence. Then there was his direct contact with the Jim-thing. And destruction. Chic’s range of experiences in Unity alone would put him outside the experience of children in a “normal” colony. And then there the journey afterwards and stuff on the Fitzgerald….
A mouse with great mouse ears. Thanks for that Aaron. When starting new characters it is sometime hard to capture the essence, and you have always shown us interesting ear styles. I love your style and the way you can capture emotions on faces and body language. Also thanks for easing up on the depressing stories. I one is depressed sometimes it is hard to deal with depressing stories.
Seems like Chic may need some help on making friends and Lying, exaggerating like that isn’t doing him any help.I was a Playground worker at a couple of elementary schools, and have met traumatized kids who can’t get past their maladaptive behavior. I am on the autism spectrum and also had some trauma, fortunately I have been tuned into watching body language and sensing danger, so I tied to help these few kids. It was heartbreakingly difficult.I began drawing recognizable things at age 2 and had progressed to trains and sailboats before 3. My son is on the spectrum started making music on piano at age 2, and continued on took lessons and I wish I could have sent him to college.
I am on the schizophrenic spectrum namely Schizotypal PD. I am fine with drawing and speaking and reading. But terrible with people, making friends being at parties. So this is a comfortable place for me.
Duffy’s dad probably rules the place. Hence his superior attitude. Same guy probably oversees the work Wally’s crew is assigned. Has his own special crew that finishes what others started then takes credit for the job others have done. Let’s see how Kirbee deals with the other “Housewives of Eden.”

Be careful what you tell your friends but be even more careful what you say to your enemies.

This place is so protected and hidden, doesn’t sound like anyone has really had to fight the Topsiders.

somehow I won’t be surprised if that kid gets a wakeup call in the form of unwanted adventure.

You have to learn to be thick skinned when you are a guy named Chic.

Have you tried cashing any checks during the post-apocalypse? Waiting for a teller is murder.

that kid is going to regret hitting Chic. Trouble is…as the new kid Chic will be the one kicked out.
