What’s the joke?

If the colour is correct, then I don’t get the “joke”.

I’m trying, but I don’t see the pun. Ginger breadman? He doesn’t have red hair, nor does he look like a baker. Confused…

I’m not sure if the direction is supposed to be, “Run, run as fast as you can…” or, “I saw mommy kissing Gingerbeard…”. Or none of the above.

Yea it’s ginger beard. Colorist blew it. But if you think this is confusing try figuring it out from the black and white version in my paper this morning.

Maybe it wasn’t color. Maybe it was supposed to be “gringey beard.”

Colour looks fine to me and the transliteration is obvious.
