About two years ago, I gave in to the incentives to get a Walmart (and I like the chain very much overall). While I was waiting for the phone confirmation, I was read the insurance pitch. I misunderstood their ‘balance’ definition as outstanding debt, cancelled the policy within the week, the cancellation was acknowledged at the time by Walmart’s arm’s length policy firm but kept showing on the bill. I told Walmart about it as I informed them I shredded their card. When asked, I just tell them I have enough plastic. It beats reciting my reason.
Schnuck’s has something like that. I looked into it and didn’t see enough savings to justify it. Now, I get asked every time I go through the line if I have it. I found out that apparently the Schnuck’s employees are required to sign up, but the one that told me she was on it, she said she wasn’t happy that her purchases are being tracked.

I can relate! I’ve had it up to the teeth with companies wanting me to sign up. They are only wanting a means to track your buying habits.

That is certainly enough to pull you out of the Christmas mood!

Just tell them you applied but were refused. That should stop the questions.
