Our world is a 24 hours a day operation. I typically work every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. It’s life. And it’s typically more money. I’ll take it.
Additionally, Thanksgiving typically involves a lot of alcohol consumption (and I don’t like being around it), and after an hour or two the food’s done. Christmas is OK for an hour or two after opening the presents, then it’s really just another day.
I worked many Christmases. When my kids were young I’d bring the whole family. I’d give the kids a handful of quarters and let them at the vending machines. Then let them watch movies in the conference room on the big projector TV. They still remember these Christmases fondly.
