good idea, Dean: ask the person you offended

We need a conclusion.

I’m sorry, Heart, but I think you’re going to have to bite the bullet. Part of me still hope for a crazy scheme, though.

Alright! Kate’s in a right, royal snit;Dean is hopeless and hapless; Heart has gotten herself into a fix she can’t fix. The Junior High Strikes Again. Now move it along Mark!!!

I still say walk away. You made a sincere apology which was rejected. The next move is up to Kat. If she does nothing, then in my mind, you don’t need that kind of friend.

The problem with asking her is that the answer might be rough. Like, “withdraw from the play.”

Sounds and looks familiar to me when I was that age. One girl was my very best friend up to about age 11 or so, and then out of the blue, she got a brand new bestie and I was toast.

In those days kids would go to each others’ houses without invite, so we were in and out as if we lived there. My mother asked after a day not seeing her and I said that I don’t know. She asked her mother to find out, and even then she didn’t say what was the problem.

Anyway, good friends in those days were dime a dozen, and I got a brand new best friend by the end of the week… We parted ways when my parents moved when we finished primary school, as it was too hard to keep up a correspondence and in those days long distance cost an arm and a leg. I got a brand new best friend in high school, and she is the one still in my life 50+ years later…

That is the way life goes! Win some , lose some!

If she asks for something stupid, tell her to drop dead.
