I am so glad Schulz eventually did away with that ‘tongue’ thing when somebody got clobbered.

Good thing it wasn’t a baseball, it’s a little cold to get knocked out of all your clothes.

And Amelia carries on that tradition in “Wallace the Brave.” But she doesn’t give Spud any warning — she just lets him have it when he least expects it.

Of course it helps she threw it at point blank range. I imagine it would still hurt if he were about as far as the distance from a little league pitcher’s mound to home plate with as hard as she just chucked it, but not quite that badly.

I knew a girl in junior high who decked a guy that ticked her off (can’t remember how), with a baseball to the chest. He had that bruise for about a month.

And what was in that snowball?

He has a short “strike zone,” but, I was thinking, right in the solar plexus (the traditional “bread basket?”)
