For some odd reason my mom disapproved of using bookmarks. She would take them out of our books, saying that if you hadnāt been paying enough attention to know where you left off, you needed to start over.
I read a lot of books, I have a lot of book marks. However, when one is not handy as per CBās problem, I would remove the āDo Not Removeā date card. But the libraries donāt use them anymore so the books get dog-eared.
Iāll use pretty much whatever comes to hand for a bookmark, be it a piece of paper, toothpick, paperclip, or my go to is simply turning the book upside down open to the page Iām on.
At least heās not looking to damage the book by folding the page corner to mark the page (not gonna say the term cause Schulz visually and ironically used it for the joke here). But what about poor, old Snoopy. Canāt same the same about him. Even if the book isnāt heavy enough to hurt his ear, canāt say it wonāt get damaged. He could suffer numerous paper cuts!
The last place I worked before retiring got new promo bookmarks every year. Any left from the previous year were distributed among the employees. Iāve got enough to last me a lifetime and then some. As soon as I start a new book I stick one in the front of it.

Wouldnāt dog-earing the page be to colour it black, like Snoopyās, in the āPeanutsverseā?
