Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be

email for more details.
Lucy should get a job as a Climatologist. In 20 years from when this comic went up, she could predict the coming ice age, and then turn around and predict Global Warming a few years later.
There are already so many state symbols (state animal, bird, insect, fossil, flowerâŚ) and now of course each state will designate one of those suns as their State Sun.
ah, the good ole days when Peanuts was a viable comic strip. The 48 states reference definitely is in the 50âs when Hawaii and Alaska werenât states in the union. I grew up reading the later ones from the late sixties and stopped as the characters became too one dimensional and the Woodstock character become too annoying. The early years (in the 50âs) were great as Charlie Brown was not a one dimensional character. It seems like after the middle 60âs he was always getting portrayed as a loser and saying âGood Griefâ all the time. And there was too much emphasis on recurring themes (i.e. the football, the doctor is in).
Alaska was added in 1958. Elvis was about to film his new movie, âBlue Alaskaâ, but then got drafted into the Army. When he returned to civilian life, Hawaii had just been added to the union so the script was reworked into âBlue Hawaiiâ. This made all the water scenes easiser to film.
Many in Hawaii thought that they would be the 49th state. The owner of a popular record store started the 49th State Records record label in anticipation of Hawaiiâs eventual attainment of statehood, but Alaska gained statehood eight months before Hawaii, making Hawaii the 50th state. The label was founded to answer the growing demand for traditional Hawaiian music in the founderâs record store, with the first 49th State recordings released as 78 rpm records made using an acetate record cutting machine in a makeshift studio in his own home. He even went so far as to have Aloha shirts made commemorating 49th State Records. I saw one of those shirts at the Smithsonian a few years ago. I was not born in the state of Alaska. Alaska was born on my land.
To any one younger who has discovered PEANUTS I highly recommend the yt video Lucyâs little known facts ( your a good man, Charlie Brown.) Cast recording it is a laugh!!

Ah, no Alaska and Hawaii yet. (How many countries at the time? Imagine the ânumber of sunsâ then!)

Iâve inherited 48 star flags. Theyâre easy to noticed as the stars are arranged in a rectangle of 8X6.
