When this appeared in 1955 we were having “duck and cover” drills at my public school in NYC in case the Russkies dropped an atomic bomb on us. We had also been issued dog tags three years before so we could be identified in the aftermath. I didn’t have a security blanket but we all probably should have been issued those too.
