everybody? Well that’s not true …I’m… hey, where’d this Davy Crockett cap come from?

I had one at that age.

This was later done with inner tubes, and other popular items.

Thanx to the Disney company.

Only when the merch started flying off the shelves did Disney realize what a terrible mistake they made by killing him off at the Alamo. No chance for a sequel.

Maybe we’ll see the strip that shows how Snoopy got the cap on.

I had a plastic rifle, but no hat.

Davy Crocket was very popular back then. I had a raccoon skin cap back then too….

Too bad he got killed at the Alamo.

I live out in the country and I see a lot of them on the roads – still attached to their former owners.

Fess Parker, who played Davy Crockett in those days, ended up becoming a very successful vintner, and his vineyard produces excellent wines to this day.

My brother had a Davy Crockett cap; while I was decked out in Annie Oakley regalia – I loved Annie. Gramma and Aunt Sally took me to see her, well the actress who played her, at the Colorado State Fair when I was 8. Glorious!

Everyone had one. It’s been said that it was the start of “pop” culture. I think that’s true.

Daniel Boone also became associated with the coonskin hat, and both famed frontiersmen got that association courtesy of the late Fess Parker. Most historians believe that neither Davy Crockett nor Daniel Boone ever wore coonskin hats.
