This comic was in 1955. I realized Santa didn’t exist in 1967, similarly to Lucy’s discovery.

Imagine Linus’s reaction had they been discussing the Great Pumpkin.

Yesterday’s strip was from Saturday (12/24/55). Today’s is from Monday (12/26/55). This makes an entire year (1955) of skipped Sunday strips. The last Sunday strip shown by GC on “Peanuts Begins” was from December 26, 1954. It ran on December 23, 2022.

When I post these reminders about missing Sunday strips, there have been several comments about color. On the regular “Peanuts” site, the Sunday strips (originally published in color) are in B&W until July 21, 1996. The daily strips (originally published in B&W) remain so up to January 3, 2000. That strip is the farewell note from Schulz. After that, they are colorized.

So that’s why Linus turned to the Great Pumpkin!
