Getting access to old war footage may be less expensive
and / or time consuming than piecing together historical
documentaries from ” scratch “. There is still editing involved,
and a working script and narration still have to be written and recorded.
Even though I drew the above cartoon, I do watch the History Channel and find some of the older, digitally restored footage fascinating.
Actually, with the history channel’s newest round of
trying to brainwash people, the chair needs to be a tin foil hat that can be placed on the viewer and the chair needs to be a space ship.
Hard for the history channel to have a lot of scientific discoveries or Mother Teresa stuff. THAT doesn’t interest film maker, then or now. So you get the blood and guts and how the West was loused up.
Not sure if it’s the History Channel, but
I’m tired of the Ancient Aliens shows.
I really don’t believe those particular shows even though they are interesting to see, ONCE.

Why don’t they call it the War Channel? Seems like most of their shows are of old battles.
