what on earth does Davies imply in this ‘toon?
in news I’ve seen for quite awhile, the Armed Weapon threat is coming the opposite way….from the Mexican border into the USA!
the entire world has been armed since the invention of the gun. Liberals may put the blame on the USA, but IMO that is not accurate or fair. Guns are inanimate objects and the use is decided by humans in each country, and defense is or should be, IMO, the #1 priority.
when drug cartels are waging war on your border ranchlands, you need our 2nd amendment to be legal and lawful in defending private lives and properties from the “alien invasion”…..IMO. those lawless thugs leave behind headless bodies and various body parts…something even Davies ought to support personal defense against! US law enforcement won’t or cannnot do 100% of the defending and certainly cannot prevent US citizens being brutally murdered!
the second amendment has been distorted by the right and the left.
it creates a constitutional tension.
so long as the government has a “well regulated militia”, we the people have the right to keep and bear arms.
it is a safety valve against a government run amok.
it’s purpose is not for hunting, and not for protecting your family in your home against intruders - these are emotional distraction arguments.
it is a saftey valve, so when the republicans come to take your freedoms, or the democrats come to consfiscate your money and property, you can shoot back.
the second amendment is in the bill of rights. IT IS A CIVIL LIBERTY. The liberals should defend it because once a civil liberty is lost, it is impossible to get back. The neo-conservatives should defend the other 9 civil liberties as fiercely as they defend the second.

disgusted, the “headless bodies” statement is FALSE. And the Second Amendment does refer to militia, not whack-jobs with bleeep substitutes.
