A classic power move would involve relocating the outlets…
and probably the service panel, as well.
Repairing the outlets only maintains the balance of power.
I’m not sure of his motives… but I think he unplugged your lamps so you couldn’t see the light.
Alexi… did you try Googling it?
I just searched “Green slime on electrical plugs” and found links to info about sockets oozing greenish slime….
you have to read it yourself, to get correct info and advice.
I’m no electrician, and it’s way too much and too technical to post here, and you have to decide which articles apply to your situation….
but basically sounds like a chemical reaction in a plasticiser used in wiring insulation.
But you said four moves…. so it would seem either all four places had the problem or maybe some slime stayed on a plug and transferred the reaction to the new outlets.
It sounds like it needs removing so I’d definitely try that search for yourself.
OK, you’re on a date and he accepts your offer to come in. On discovering (or being told) that there are outlets that are in need of repair, he goes and fixes them. This one sounds like a keeper – competent, domesticated and willing to let you make the next move. Go have some fun if that’s what you want!!! 8^)

Let’s hope your date knows the right moves. The consequences could be either shocking or electrifying.

The outlets were probably installed with the eyes and nose upside-down. That always bugs me.
