the scary thing is that I think this could be true. I work in a bulk food store. We have sales on peanuts and candy etc like a grocery store does with fruit and meat to get shoppers through the door. Hardly a day goes past where someone demands something from a fresh box in the stock room because the product is obviously stale or we wouldn’t have it on at a sale price.

That happened to them due to lack of marketing. They needed to present the bagel as an innovation and something unique in baking.
