Let’s give the fingers their fair due also.

Without them, we’d be all thumbs.

We would have a 8 based numerical system if we didn’t have thumbs.

We are animals and a lot of them have thumbs.

If you use the binary system, Pinky = 1, ring finger = 2, middle = 4, index = 8 etc. you can count to 32 on one hand, 1024 on two hands. Just have to be careful with 4 and 128.

Remember the Farside cartoon? Cows sitting around in a room, the phone is ringing, and one of them says, “And here we sit without opposable thumbs.” It was a sad day when Gary Larson retired.

And cats are developing them, which will be the beginning of the end for the human race.

Is today really Thumb Day? Do Washington and Lincoln know about this?

Where would texting & tweeting be without thumbs , for some people?

It all reminds me of one of my favorite putdowns, which I’ll have to describe:

(Pointing them back at self) “This guy.”
