Is now when I should recount the number of Amazon packages that I’ve received with NO packing material? Just loose items bouncing around inside the box? Not really healthy for DVDs.
This makes more sense then you realize. From a shippers point of view crushed boxes are harder to pack in a truck and waste more space. The air pillows attempt to keep the box corners intact.
Looking at the box, the amount of static electricity generated by the combination of bubble wrap and peanuts would make it virtually impossible to remove the bubble wrap without getting peanuts all over the place.
Oh, and don’t try to handle the green water soluble peanuts on a hot day when you’re covered in sweat. Sticky…
I once ordered a nice ceramic lasagna dish. It came in a LARGE box with no packing whatsoever. I will leave it to the reader to imagine its appearance once it arrived at my home.
When I get a package in the mail that has been packed with foam peanuts, I too, want to meet that person…so I could punch them in the face! Unless they use the starch peanuts, I don’t mind those.

No joke: I ordered a down pillow on Amazon a couple years back, and it arrived in a large box surrounded by ‘air-pillows’…

The product he ordered is a Greenpeace calendar.

Why wasn’t it wrapped in bubble wrap…?

Now that is an interesting situation: would they really need to surround it with protective material if it was only bubblewrap?
