The Beatles’ nowhere man much?

Back when I was in high school, my boyfriend and I would do that for at least 2 hours a night.

Probably a girl and he doesn’t want to deal with all the inevitable questions from Mom.

Oh Elly. Just remember what it was like when you were talking on the phone with a boy and your mom came to interrogate you. He is you 30 years ago.

My daughter calls me every morning on her way to work and does the same thing. I call it “breathing on the phone”. lol

“Your ‘nobody’ called today, she hung up when I asked her name….”

Juts wait until you have a teenage daughter.

A common conversation prior to the complete proliferation of cellular.

First off, nobody and I mean nobody has a corded phone anymore. Really???

Nowadays it’s walk-and-talk and 45 min is just the warm up

Nowadays you can just wait for a telemarketer to call. Then it is easy to talk about nothing to nobody. Kudos if they speak your language!

i love that this is old enough that he’s using the family phone.

Well, at least he is not running up minutes on the mobile.

My folks had a phone in their room with a 30 foot cord on it so it would reach the other bedrooms. I would take it into my room and spend literally hours on the phone with friends or boyfriends.

I can do, and have done, 45 minutes of talking about nothing.

My father was a doctor, so we kids had to stay off the phone in case the hospital or a patient called. I seem to have survived, though I’m sure kids nowadays wouldn’t believe that. When my friends and I wanted to talk, we got together at the store or somebody’s house. Which was better for me, anyway, away from the listening ears of my 8 younger siblings! :-D

I remember being on the phone for hours, saying a lot of “nothing” to a boy. My parents got a second line just so they could use the phone. LOL (I also had a verbose sister, who’d take over the phone whenever I wasn’t using it.)
