Alice: I've got to see Kevin's puppy or I'll go nuts. Petey: Ssh! I'm trying to write a skit about soil erosion, but I'm blocked. Alice: What's soil erosion? Petey: Well, there's some dirt, then it gets washed away. Alice: Sounds like a TV commercial for laundry soap. Petey: Of course! I'll do a parody of a TV commercial! It fits the assignment and it adds scathing social commentary! Alice: It's my idea, so I get to be the star!

Let her think she’ll be the star and quit talking so you can get it going! A brilliant skit!

Where does Andre fit into all this? I assume he and Petey have reconciled.

Of course Alice should be the star. It goes so well with her personality.

Petey loves scathing social commentary! Just look at that joyous gleam in his eye! Wasn’t his halloween costume last year a scathing social commentary, too? The box on his head?

This may be the first time we’ve seen Petey and Alice delighted in the same panel.

Sure, Alice can perform for Mom & Dad while Petey takes the real one to school

The Laundry Soap Parody, is a great idea, but the scathing social commentary…maybe not. Nobody’ll understand it (nobody ever understand’s Petey’s scathing social commentary), the teacher will grade him down for it, and it’ll just be more grist for the mill of Petey’s discontent. Besides, Andre might not want it, and it could reopen the rift.
