Everyone is saying that this arc is going to be boring and similar to most other Sherman arcs. While I agree based on today’s strip, the possibilities are still endless since absurd things happen in the Big Nate universe now, such as Pickles playing Nate in chess and giving Nate a wedgie, so I’m still giving it a chance… I can also think of a fresh new absurd Sherman arc:

Tuesday: Nate wishes he could switch places with Sherman to get away from his pathetic life… By the last panel he suddenly becomes Sherman….

Wednesday: He is still comfortable being Sherman but then other kids pick on Sherman and Nate is starting to become very annoyed.

Thursday: Nate is alone at night in Sherman’s tank with no one to interact with and nothing to do. This drives him to become crazy/depressed because of how lonely he is and how boring Sherman’s tank is.

Friday: He realizes how horrible Sherman’s life is and really wants to go back to being Nate. Last panel: It was just a dream all along.

Saturday: Nate comes to Sherman’s tank and gives him food because he pities Sherman now.
