You never see a cat skeleton in a tree.

I can’t help wondering if anyone throughout history has been stupid enough to call the fire department about a cat up a tree.

In real life: I’ve seen the neighborhood cats climb our fruit trees from time to time. They chase the squirrels. The cats always come back down. Sometimes they climb up so high that the branch ends up swivelling back and forth a few times, and the cat gets thrown down. In all the years here, I’ve never seen a cat become stuck up there, as if it was afraid to come down…

I’ve had one of my cats stuck on a roof before.

She’d been on a tree limb that only held her weight for so long before gravity brought it down to a high rooftop. After she jumped off, it snapped back wa-a-ay out of her reach. With no way down from the height all she could do was cry pitifully.

Once I discovered her, (no idea how long that was) I just held up a lawn chair and she snapped immediately to jump on, and I brought her down.
