Do you know that in Germany the lowest taxes are on new cars? And taxes go up after three years encouraging drivers to buy new cars or at least not keep them as long. That means safer cars on the road and fewer accidents, breakdowns etc. And a three year old car with low mileage is easily sold in Europe. Hum, why didn’t we think of that?

Yup, I’m above average too. It helps that I’m retired and don’t put quite as many miles on per year as I used to.

My ‘new’ truck is only 9 yrs old, my old truck is 35 yrs old and my cars are 20 and 50 yrs old. this REALLY messes up the curve.

we have a 2001 with 160,000 miles on it and a 2002 with 211,000 miles on it, just starting to think about replacing the 2001.

Haven’t bought a car in thirty years. I have leased ten of them, though. A new one every three years.
