Gracie needs to learn a bit of balance. Reading books is fine, but they can also be an escape every bit as bad as the internet. You need to develop some social skills too. And this coming from someone with over 4,000 books in his house.
I was a children’s librarian. Parents were shocked when they would tell me their children would rather read than play and I would tell them that “outside time” was just as important.
I was like Gracie as a child. Mom would kick me out the door in the morning when school was out and tell me to come home for meals – she had no idea how many places I had books stashed.

It certainly beats watching TV all day.

Maybe if Sergio tells her that exercise takes oxygen to the brain and boosts learning capacity, she’ll do it and do it gladly.

Yes, what a horrible thing … getting fresh air, and some sun. Oh, the horror.

“Mens sana in corpore sano”. BTW ASICS brand sneakers borrowed the saying and changed the Latin word for “mind” to the word for “spirit”.

We understand, Gracie. We understand.
First comment most people make coming into our house is, "Have you read all of them?
And we have.
fusilier, who did make Daughters ##1 and 2 go outside – where they read under the apple trees.

I do much of my reading on a bike at the gym.

Take the book outside, Gracie. I used to sit in a tree to read all the time.
