Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Youâll get more âup timeâ in the future kiddo ⊠there will be nights when YOUR daughter wonât let you sleep! :P
Morninâ everyone. At Birdbrains we call each other âTribeâ, at Overboard, we call each other âCrewâ⊠I think here we should be âNeighboursâ. Anyone agree or disagree?
I agree Michael needs a flashlight and a book. I read under my covers every night and my parents never knew it (at least, I donât THINK they knew it). Does no harm to the kid and makes him/her think that theyâve put one over on the parents.
You know, FishStix, I was kinda wondering about that Teddy Bear myself. Seems a little juvenile for Michaelâs age but then maybe he is younger than I think.
Allen V, I am not so sure about neighbours. How about neighbors? (Just kiddinâ our Northern neighbours and their funny way of spelling things.)
Every night from about age 5, my mother walked by my room, wondering when she had to stop me reading under the covers. She hated to say âno more readingâ but OTOH I could stay up for hoursâŠ.
I had no siblings but my school friends could all stay up later. Probably my mother had an hour of reading time built in to my bedtime!
My kids complain regularly about having to go to bed earlier than most of their school friends. On the other hand, my kids get up early enough to actually eat a healthy breakfast, help with a few chores (feeding pets, etc.) and get ready for school without scrambling most mornings. And they are rested and getting better grades than most of their friends, as well. Iâm happy, even if they arenât. ;-)
That teddy bear could be Michaelâs security while he is in his bed and then, goes sleeping ZZZZ. That will be nice to have some different kind of stuffed animals for kidâs securities for their bedtime. I never had anything with me when I sleep in my bed all my life. Tch, oh well! :-)
I like neighbors, neighbours, nay-berrs. Whatever.
Night-Gaunt: thatâs Michaelâs blanket Elly is pulling up over him - not her hand on her knee.
My mom just made us get in bed - we could read freely as long as we could keep our eyes open. Good way to encourage a child to read: itâs the only way theyâre allowed to stay up late!! XD

Donât worry Michael, youâll make up for it when your older. Youâll also find out later that being an adult is vastly over-rated.

Allan V.
Neighbours sounds good to me, too.

My 7 (soon to be 8) year old still sleeps with stuffed animals, especially her favorite Simba. But she is a girl and maybe boys are different.
Hello neighbors! (Good idea, Allan)

Staying up later is vastly over-rated! What I wouldnât give to be able to sleep more than 5 or 6 hours (and undisturbed ones, at that) a night!!!
