This is where geometry comes in handy. My cat sits and figures out A^2+B^2 = C^2. She and my husband are both mathematicians. That problem is from the former. I don’t understand and I’m not sure how the cat does.

Well upward momentum is achieved by defying gravity slightly. Upward mobility is achieved by defying convention slightly. Similar, but not the same.
