For you Millennials out there, this is a back handed reference to “The Pride of St. Louis.” There’s a scene where it’s the top of the ninth, two out (I think the last game of a world series) and Dizzy Dean calls time to talk to his catcher. The scene switches to the stands were this lady asks her husband “What are they talking about?” and the husband says “Oh, strategy, where to put the next pitch, stuff like that.” The scene then switches to the mound where Dizzy is talking to his catcher about a shotgun the catcher’s uncle has for sale and that Dizzy wanted to let the catcher know he wants the gun and wanted to tell him before he got away after the game.

The announcer isn’t trying to give anything away, just in case the other team is listening.
