Now that you mention it, I don’t recall seeing the tabloids at self-checkouts. I’m surprised, I figure they would want them there to distract people so they can’t remember what they scanned.
There’s a movement in England where folks are ringing everything up as bananas or carrots, e.g. something super cheap – as a protest. Also gets you a super low total to pay at the end if you can get away with it.
